Guwahati: The bandh called in Bodoland Territorial Region (BTR) by the All Bodo People has affected the normal life in BTR and other parts of the region. The bandh has been announced NDFB today issued a press note and declared that a 24-hour bandh will be observed in BTR on September 28 Wednesday to protest against the rejailed carried out by the Assam Govt of former NDFB Leaders Ranjan Daimary.
Daimary was the prime accused in the serial blasts case and has been in jail since he was nabbed in Bangladesh in 2010. He was granted bail in 2020 for four weeks to take part in the Bodo peace talks. He is one of the four signatories of the accord center and state government signed with four factions of NDFB.
The All Bodo Students' Union (ABSU) appealed to the Centre and the Assam government to release NDFB(R) chief Ranjan Daimary, who was one of the signatories to the Bodo Peace Accord.
He was released on bail in 2020 and was currently participating in peace talks with the government. But Today he is not free from jail. Yesterday, the Guwahati High Court announced that four NDFB candidates will be released and four NDFB members along with Ranjan Daimary will continue to be in jail.
