Apr 26, 2021: Assam is consuming oxygen 20 MT per day and Oxygen production capacity has reached 61 MT per day. Himanta Biswa Sarma said. 

Sarma said that consumption of oxygen by Covid and non-covid patients is gradually increasing in Assam since last month and currently, Assam is consuming 20 MT per day. Due to our concerted efforts including operationalization of new PSA plants over last 10 days, today our Oxygen production capacity has reached 61 MT per day. We've also expanded our Oxygen storage capacity to 468 MT, Sarma said.    

Sarma said that consumption of oxygen over next 10 days will comfortable about Oxygen supply. Over next week Assam shall also operationalise 3 more Oxygen plants. Assam have a stock of 25,000 #Remdevisir. In addition to patients in govt hospitals, we're also supporting pvt hospitals.  Himanta Biswa Sarma Said. 

"We've added 200 more ICU beds in last 10 days, and efforts are on increase this further. We're grateful to Govt of India for the support. As of today, we're comfortable about beds, oxygen, medicine and ICU availability for next 10 days. You all BE SAFE Face with medical mask."  Himanta Biswa Sarma Said.

In Guwahati, if the number of active cases touch 1,000, the Kamrup Metro district administration can decide on closing down educational institutions and hostels, Assam Education Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma today said.
